IDON-Study survey on Nutritional Practice in non-dialysis CKD patients

The ERN Working Group has launched a Survey aimed at identifying the clinical priorities in Nutritional Practice for non-dialysis chronic kidney disease (CKD) patients by gathering views from different Stakeholders involved in CKD care (Nephrologists, Nutritionists, Dietitians, Nurses and Patients). We invite you to actively participate in this Survey that should take no more than 20 minutes. The Survey is available in several languages (English, Spanish, French, German, Portuguese and Italian). We appreciate if you could share this link with all of your professional contacts and any national and international scientific and/or patients’ associations involved in CKD care you are currently in contact with.

Young Fellowship Programme

The ERA-EDTA will support Dietary intake and adherence to dietary recommendations in European dialysis patients: the diet-hd study coordinated by ERN by granting a Full ERA-EDTA member (≤40 years old) the possibility to be involved in the project by providing him/her a fellowship.

The deadline for applications is May 8, 2019.

In Budapest results of the IDON-Study survey on Nutritonal Practice in non dialysis CKD patients will be presented in the session 'What should CKD patients eat?' scheduled on June 14 at 8.00. The title of the presentation is 'Priorities on nutritional issues in non-dialysis CKD according to stakeholders'.

In addition, the free communication 'Serum uric acid and mortality risk among hemodialysis patients: an association modified by body composition?' is included in the 'Fluids and electrolytes' session scheduled on June 16 at 8.30.
This last presentation is part of the activities initiated further to a collaboration between the ERN and Fresenius Medical Care to undertake a number of clinical epidemiological studies in the Euclid databases regarding nutritional aspects in the management of dialysis patients.

New online educational material is available

The ERN Board is happy to inform that the ERN webpage has been recently updated and features new educational materials (CME presentations given at ERN CME courses) and updates on ongoing activities.

Presentations are accessible for ERA-EDTA members only and is also subject to ENP subscription.

In 2019 the Board composition of ERN Working Group was partially renewed.

After having served the group for one term as Chair, Denis Fouque (France) is handing over the baton to Juan Jesus Carrero (Sweden, former Vice Chair) who will take the lead of the Working Group together with Daniel Teta (Switzerland, Vice Chair).

ERN is happy to welcome three new Board members: Stephan Bakker (The Netherlands), Karine Moreau (France), Giorgina Piccoli (France/Italy).

Further to the transitional norm, applied after the fourth year of existence of Working Groups, Philippe Chauveau (France), Christof Wanner (Germany) and Pieter ter Wee (The Netherlands) officially stepped down. The Board would like to thank them for their participation and contribution in all initiatives run by the ERN.
