Further success for the European Certificate in Nephrology (ECN) examination!
The ECN exam was developed as a collaboration between the UEMS Renal Section and Boards and the ERA-EDTA, in conjunction with the Royal Colleges of Physicians, UK. “We are very pleased with the results of the third sitting of the ECN examination held on 27th February” said Dr. David Lappin, Exam Lead ECN at The UEMS Renal Section and Boards. “Seventy-six doctors from across Europe and ERA-EDTA affiliated countries sat the exam” said Dr. Lappin. “Forty-one of the seventy-six candidates were successful, representing a pass rate of 54 %. We are excited to announce that we will be presenting certificates in person to successful candidates who can attend the upcoming ERA-EDTA annual congress in Budapest. Further development of a pan-European examination for 2020 is at an advanced stage, in collaboration with the Royal Colleges of Physicians, UK. Delivering a high-quality exam will drive standards, promote harmonisation of training across the EU, and further enhance opportunities for free movement of doctors across the EU” concluded Dr Lappin.
