The ERA-EDTA Ethics Committee is a very important advising committee for the ERA-EDTA Council with regard to ethical matters or debates. It will not be directly involved in actively producing documents or statements nor will it actively organise meetings or symposia, without the approval of the Council.
It also makes sure that the Council and all ERA-EDTA Committees act consistently with the purposes for which ERA-EDTA was founded and that they follow the rules of the Constitution and Council Regulations.
ETHICS COMMITTEE MEMBERS:
Mehmet Sukru Sever (Turkey) – Chair
Netar Mallick (UK)
Wim van Biesen (Belgium)
Jadranka Buturović-Ponikvar (Slovenia)
Peter Heering (Germany)
Election of new Members of the ERA-EDTA Ethics Committee (one vacancy)
During the General Assembly in 2021, one new Ethics Committee Member must be elected, as N. Mallick (United Kingdom) will leave the Committee having reached the end of his term.
IMPORTANT! Please note that, according to the ERA-EDTA Constitution, candidates cannot be from the same country (meaning their country of residence). Therefore, no candidates from Belgium, Germany, Slovenia and Turkey can be considered for this election since the Committee already has an active Member from these Countries in 2021.
