Exclusively reserved to ERA-EDTA Full Active Members
The ERA-EDTA Council strongly supports the idea of being as representative and inclusive as possible, thus Members, in particular women, young Members, and Members from countries that are not represented in any of the current Council, Working Groups, and Committees, are encouraged to actively participate in these elections, both by submitting their candidatures and/or by voting.
Election of new Ordinary Council Members (three vacancies).
During the General Assembly in 2021, three new Ordinary Council Members must be elected, as D. Goumenos (Greece), M.S. Soler (Spain), and K. Stevens (United Kingdom) will end their terms as Ordinary Council Members.
IMPORTANT! Please note that, according to the ERA-EDTA Constitution, no more than two candidates can be from the same country (meaning their country of residence). Therefore, no candidates from Spain and Germany can be considered for these elections as the Council will already have two active Members from these countries in 2021.
Election of new Members of the ERA-EDTA Ethics Committee (one vacancy).
During the General Assembly in 2021, one new Ethics Committee Member must be elected, as N. Mallick (United Kingdom) will leave the Committee having reached the end of his term.
IMPORTANT! Please note that, according to the ERA-EDTA Constitution, candidates cannot be from the same country (meaning their country of residence). Therefore, no candidates from Belgium, Germany, Slovenia and Turkey can be considered for this election since the Committee already has an active Member from these Countries in 2021.
Election of the new Clinical Kidney Journal Editor-in-Chief
A new Clinical Kidney Journal Editor-in-Chief must be elected, as A. Ortiz (Spain) will end his second and last term in 2022 and cannot be re-elected.
To allow a smooth transition, the nomination will take place, if possible, at least one year in advance of the expiration of the term of office of the current CKJ Editor-in-Chief to be substituted, preferably in the Council held before the General Assembly of that same year. The new appointment will become effective upon expiration of the demitting CKJ Editor-in-Chief’s mandate.
