Join the European Renal Osteodystrophy (EUROD) Winter meeting 2020 an educational event organised by EUROD, a CKD-MBD Working Group initiative to be held on January 16-18, 2020 in Leuven (Belgium). The meeting boasts the organisation of an EUROD research forum (January 16), especially designed for basic and clinical researchers in CKD-MBD with a focus on the scientific progress in renal bone disease, two CMEs, one on ‘Vitamins and oxidative stress on the cross-roads of bone and vessels’ (January 17) and one entitled ‘The challenge of osteoporosis in CKD’ which also includes case studies. Estimating glomerular filtration rate in patients with acute kidney injury: a prospective multicenter study of diagnostic accuracy Estimating glomerular filtration rate (GFR) in acute kidney injury (AKI) is challenging, with limited data comparing estimated and gold standard methods to assess GFR. The objective of this study was to assess the performance of the kinetic estimated GFR (KeGFR) and Jelliffe equations to estimate GFR in AKI, using a radioisotopic method (technetium-diethylenetriaminepentaacetic acid) as a reference measure. EKHA Chairman Raymond Vanholder presented the Joint Statement of the Thematic Network on Improving Organ Donation and Transplantation on October 17, 2019 at the EU Health Policy Platform Annual Meeting in Brussels. The Joint Statement entitled A Shared Vision for Improving Organ Donation and Transplantation in the EU is the main output of the EKHA-led 2019 Thematic Network, developed in conjunction with National Competent Authorities, transplant organisations, medical professionals and patient associations, and endorsed by co-signing organisations and Members of the European Parliament (MEPs).
