Summary1

The incidence of acute kidney injury (AKI) in the hospital setting may range from 22% to as high as 67% in intensive care units (ICU). It most often occurs as a complication at cardiology, surgery (including cardiovascular), anesthesiology, oncology, radiology, gastroenterology, obstetrics, and emergency departments. Furthermore, renal damage is often caused by inappropriate drug prescription, so it may happen due to inadequate clinical pharmacy services.
