ERA-EDTA / ISN current partnership agreement

The ERA-EDTA and the ISN are developing a partnership to express their mutual commitment to the advancement of nephrology in the developing countries, and more particularly in Eastern and Central Europe, Northern Africa and the Middle East.

ERA-EDTA / ISN Fellowship Programme partnership is designed to enable young doctors from Eastern and Central Europe, Northern Africa and the Middle East to train in Nephrology in a European Geographical area host centre in order to encourage and report advances in the field of clinical nephrology, dialysis, renal transplantation and related subjects also in these disadvantaged areas.

As per the agreement, the receiving institute must be in the area of activity of the ERA-EDTA: Europe and countries bordering the Mediterranean Sea and the applicants should be from countries of the ERA-EDTA geographical area.  Only in case of no eligible applications from such countries, the ERA-EDTA will sponsor fellowships for applicants from other countries, preferably with language connections with Europe. The ERA-EDTA has the right to mention these fellowships in its publications and the fellows whose stipends are sponsored by the ERA-EDTA are informed about that.

An official agreement was signed last December 2011 between the ERA-EDTA and the ISN. According to it, the ERA-EDTA will allocate an annual contribution of maximum 52.000,00 USD.
The agreement is valid until one of the two parts asks to amend or terminate it.
