The association is registered in London: there the annual balance sheets are prepared by the chartered accountants Macnair Mason,
are approved by the Council, that meets there once a year, and filed with the Charity Commission. However, the day-to-day bookkeeping is done in Italy. In fact, the Administrative Office, chaired for six years by Luis Piera, and from June 2005 by Rosanna Coppo, is in Parma, with Anna Maria Manara as General Manager. Her team is divided into four departments: Monica Fontana Faughnan (who actually works from her home near Padua) is in charge of the Membership Office, Isabel Fontana, Silvia Menoni and Virna Pierobon work full-time at the preparation of the annual
congresses, Francesca Trebelli (working from Rome) creates the websites and takes care of the electronic journal NDTEducational, Elisabetta Gelfi and Ilaria Martini help with the administration.

The journal NDT is published in England by Oxford U.P., but the Editorial Office has been in Paris in the last six years, moving now to Ghent, in
Belgium. In Paris the Editor-in-Chief Tilman Drueke has availed himself of the work of Juliet Tyson, Christine Dupont, Hiyam Massy and Youssef Meftali.

The Registry, chaired by Carmine Zoccali, carries out its activity in Amsterdam, at the AMC, with a Managing Director (Kitty Jager), a Medical Information scientist (Paul van Dijk) an IT Specialist (Ronald Cornet) a Senior Epidemiologist (Friedo Dekker) an Epidemiologist (Vianda Stel) a Datamanager (Sabine Bos) and a Secretary (Gita Guggenheim).

No wonder then if an officer has to think for a while before providing the proper answer, when asked for the address of the ERA-EDTA!
