The National Congress instead included 10 invited lectures, 22 Free Communications and 45 Posters. There were 5 Industry Symposia/Lectures of very high quality. Both Meetings were scientifically enriched by two extraordinary sessions: the ERA-EDTA session (Professor Jorge Cannata Andia and Professor Rosanna Coppo) and the COMGAN session (Professor Juergen Floege, Professor Paolo Schena, Professor Alain Meyrier and Professor Jerzy Chudek).

The scientific program included the following sessions: Basic & Experimental, Glomerulonephritis, Progression of Kidney Diseases, Diabetes/Endocrine Disorders in CKD, Tubulointerstitial/Ischemic Diseases, Renal Transplantation, Hemodialysis Complications, Cardiovascular Complications, Peritoneal Dialysis as well as a Round table – “How to Improve Regular Screening of Dialysis Patients” that was aimed at establishing guidelines for improving standards in dialysis care.
The social program included two welcome receptions with national music/food, a gala dinner and a tour of nearby monasteries and villages where participants were offered the possibility of trying locally produced wines and food.
Both Congresses were attended by 340 participants; the majority from Serbia but 160 attendants from the surrounding countries.
