The programme encompasses both long-term and short-term fellowships. Long-term fellowships will be awarded for a period of at least one and up to two years and are intended for advanced research in a European research institution. Short- term fellowships for visits of up to three months duration aim at collaborative research between two institutions in Europe. Both fellowships must involve movement between countries.
To support the programme ERA-EDTA has initiated a collaboration with the most succesful fellowship programme in Europe - developed by the European Molecular Biology Organization (EMBO, www.embo.org).
Stipend rates and conditions will be available at the ERA-EDTA website (starting from 2006). For the long-term fellowships the biannual deadlines are: April 15 and October 15. For short-term fellowships there are no fixed deadlines, but applications should be received 3 months before the proposed start date and can be accepted from June 15, 2006 onwards. Application forms will be available on the website of the Association (www.era-edta.org) in January 2006.
