Are there other benefits besides those related to the abstracts?
ERA-EDTA adopted various other flexible strategies to attract young Nephrologists:
- Reduced fee for an annual membership fee: 50 Euro for those less than 35 years in age and in their early career as Nephrologists (which will give the right to access NDT Online, to receive newsletters, ERA-EDTA mailing list of information and to pay a reduced Congress registration fee).
- Minimal Congress registration fee (50 Euro) for students less than 28 years old living in the Country where the Congress is held, to invite the local students to follow the major ERA-EDTA Congress.
- Two travel grants for each CME Course for nephrologists that are less than 35 years old and early in their career as Nephrologists (which includes a free one year membership to ERA-EDTA that gives access to NDT Online).
Do these initiatives involve also other Associations?
Yes, we are involving National Societies of Nephrology. The ERA-EDTA Council has decided to offer one grant to each National Society from Europe for the best presentations delivered by young Nephrologists at the National Annual Congress, offering free Registration to the next ERA-EDTA Meeting plus a three-year free membership to ERA-EDTA (including free access to NDT Online).
